momentum towards mitt romney. are you seeing anything in polls from talking to these people that suggests that might have changed? >> i do not think it has changed dramatically. there was some sense that what momentum he had was beginning to slow a little bit, but i have to say in talking to people the last few days on both sides in different states, both sides feel some sense of confidence. the obama team, as we know, has been insistent that they will win this election, and they have said this repeatedly for the last week, and i think that they believe they have a ground operation in place to get the voters out that they need, but in talking to republicans, what i have heard over the last two days is in republican areas, there is great enthusiasm for governor romney at this point. up until a few weeks ago or a month ago, the enthusiasm on the republican side was mostly aimed at defeating the president, and now, what has clicked in is some enthusiasm to actually elect mitt romney. they are counting on a big surge and they will need a big surge in those red republican areas for hi

put ohio in a toss-up state leaning democratic. why the change? >> well, you know, andrea, this is probably a change, i put it on myself, this is a change we should have made about five to seven days ago. i think you saw mitt romney move into certainly from down six to eight to down one to two to three in most polling after his debate performance. and that's stayed steady. we did in the write-up note that i do think barack obama is still ahead in the state. and as you mentioned, you can always follow their feet where they're going. mitt romney's spending a huge amount of time in ohio in the next few days, as is, i would say, barack obama. i think both campaigns recognize this is a not only a close race, because there are a lot of close races in states, but this is a place that mitt romney probably has to have. so, if ever there's going to be a place where they both fight because of the stakes are so high, i think ohio's it. i think it belongs where we now have it, which is in those eight states, ones we know, florida, new hampshire, iowa, virginia, nevada, colorado, new hampshire,

. both candidates had to temper their message in the wake of the storm but that could change today with five days left president obama goes back on the campaign trail with events in wisconsin, nevada and colorado. governor romney arrives in virginia a day after an event in another battleground state. >> mitt romney campaigned in florida wednesday but during his three rallies he never once mentioned president obama by name. >> i understand what it takes to get this country going again. and to bring back the kind of greatness we depend on. >> he refrained from an all out attack on the president who was visiting with disaster victims in new jersey. instead romney made his own pitch to help those affected by the storm. >> if you have the ability to help please provide some resources to people there and give calls to your loved ones and keep folks in your thoughts and prayers. it's a big part of what america is. >> the romney campaign ended up back pedalling wednesday over remarks he made about disaster relief funding. at a republican primary debate last year romney down played the federal g
